Alan Wake is ready to enter in Dead by Daylight
Dead by Daylight, a survival horror multiplayer game, and Alan Wake are collaborating on a project that may or may not be canon to the Alan Wake universe.
Though a time-limited public test is still going on Steam, Dead by Daylight developer Behaviour Interactive confirmed Alan Wake would be included in the game on January 30 as a playable Survivor.
Dead by Daylight provided a canonical explanation for Alan Wake’s appearance as well, although it’s unclear if this is an actual aspect of the universe or merely a playful tribute to its aesthetic.
In his own games, Alan Wake is a storyteller who, at the start of the first one, awakens with amnesia while a story he can’t recall writing seems to come to life. Additionally, there is a place in the franchise known as the Dark Place where Alan Wake becomes stuck at one point. He appears in Dead by Daylight, and the reason for that draws from both of these theories.
Alan Wake is fighting tooth and nail to get out of prison, but his attempt to write his way out to trouble put him right into The Entity’s clutches, trading one Dark Place for another, the announcement read.
It even included a passage from a lost in-world manuscript: “I remembered a script I wrote for Night Springs about a place covered in fog as I looked for a way out, for a little light in the dark.”
The same mist enveloped me as those memories flooded back. I’m lost and locked in a strange location once more. I have to figure out a way out. I’m not sure why, but I know that revising the script is essential.

Actor Ilkka Villi, who portrays Alan in the live-action sequences in the franchise, is the model’s likeness, while Matthew Porretta, who voiced Alan Wake, also voices the role in Dead by Daylight.
Still, there’s more in the update than just Alan Wake. Trials have a time-limited mod called Lights Out that allows players to play the game normally but without some of the essential tools they are accustomed to.
It’s not hesitant to incorporate certain horror icons into Dead by Daylight. Along with more significant partnerships like Stranger Things, The Ring Saw, and Nicolas Cage, other characters like Chucky, Alien, Pyramid Head, and others have appeared.
